Spring Break

Spring Break starts in  2 days and I cannot wait! The first half will be a lot of cleaning and preparing for Wendy's baby shower, then Thursday we leave for Ocala! It is going to be a blast! Chas, Bri, Brooke, Paige, Lorelei and I are gonna have one fun road trip ;)

I am having so much fun preparing for Wendy's baby shower! I have been going Etsy and Ebay crazy for all things fairy tale. I cannot wait for March 17th!

New Years Resolutions

So, I tend to think negatively about New Years resolutions, because I have never been successful at whatever it is I resolve to do, and by now I don't bother to make them at all.
But this year will be different!
Why? How? I dunno, I just know that there are some cool, fun, and torturous important things to get done next year.
First off, we need to lose weight. I don't want to suffer from health issues down the road, and I want to get to hang out with my grandkids one day! Who doesn't want to love on kids that you can give back? ;)
Second, I love blogging, but can't find the time to do it consistently. I'm thinking maybe a goal of 3 posts a week. I think blogging is a cool way to document life!
Last, I need to be a better money manager. I don't blow money, but I don't save either. If I can find a good balance and a plan for my summers, then life would be grand!

Over at I heart faces, the theme is feet. I KNEW this would be my entry immediately! This was from Lorelei's 1 year pictures that my sister helped me with and she came up with the best idea ever - SPRINKLES!!!! They were a mess but she loved 'em!!!!

This was taken at a fabulous pumpkin patch in Dunnellon. This was out first time experiencing picking pumpkins in a field and boy did we have fun!

Let them be Little

Over at I Heart Faces, the theme for the week is "Let them be Little". I think I am doing a good job with this for Lorelei. I let her play, get dirty, and try not to inhibit her too much. I know how important this will be as she gets older, so I am trying to do a good job of it starting now!

I chose this photo because she was just so thrilled to get down and dirty with those sprinkles, and I said to heck with it - let her!!!!

Pinterest and other cool things

So, I have a new obsession. It is called Pinterest. It is the coolest site - you can virtually pin pictures to your bulletin boards and the website it is from will accompany it. I have pinned recipes, cake smash pictures, and more! Check it out, and if you want an invite, leave me your email and I will send it!
Next up - Lorelei is going to be a year old. WOW has time flown by! At this time last year I was miserable, huge, and freezing my students out the the classroom because I was just so HOT!!! I have to get back to planning her first birthday party, which happens to be a joint party with her Daddy G and Auntie Chas! It is a mickey mouse "Ears" themed party (so it's not too kiddie for the adults) and is going to feature Lorelei's photo booth, Garretts Kava Lounge, and Chas' Margarita Bar. I can't WAIT!!!!

My First Photo Contest!

So, if you don't already know -  my hubby LOVES to fish! He always insists on me taking his pic, and using Retro Camera on my EVO I thought this one came out awesome! It is a moonfish. SO this is my entry into my first photo contest ever!!!! Thanks iheartfaces!

Because I don't have enough stuff to do in a day....

I'm back to blogging! I am so inspired by Kelle Hampton and my friend Leanne that I decided to go ahead and post! My husband and I had an awesome 1st anniversary weekend in the Keys, and Lorelei had a blast with Chas, Tim, the girls, and a few other aunties :) It was nice to get away, but I definitely missed her!

Class size amendment - What does it really mean?

As a teacher, I am appalled at how the class size amendment has been handled by the state of Florida. Over the last 2 weeks I have watched administrators scramble to make their Master schedules fit the guidelines of the state, with NO monetary help from the District. What has this resulted for me, a 6th grade Agriculture teacher? I have been moved to teach Geography, because they can't justify using my "elective" when they can ONLY cram 40 kids in my room when I can be replaced by PE, where they CAN cram 70-80 kids per class!
Of COURSE I want class sizes to be small - but not at the mercy of losing Career and Technical classes and electives! In a PERFECT world, this amendment would be 1. Funded and 2. Class size would be mandated in ALL classes, not just core (English, Math, Science, and Social Science).

Fridays are always beautiful days!

Fridays always seem, well, more beautiful than the other days. You have the excitement of the end of the work week and the anticipation of what the weekend will hold. I am extra excited today because tomorrow we will have our last 4-D Ultrasound to see baby Lorelei and what she may look like when she decides to pop out in 8 weeks (I'm secretly hoping it will be more like 6, everyone tells me it'll probably be closer to 10)! We are also hoping to finish painting the room and possibly start the wood laminate floors tomorrow. Sunday will be a cleaning and lounging day. Those are my favorite now to keep my cankles at a manageable size!

My First Post!

So, this is an old photo but I wanted to see how it would look, so voila! I have been thinking about blogging for a while now, because I just love A. Reading friends blogs and B. Reading random blogs! I also love taking pictures and hope to start editing and posting cool ones, so I figured this would be a great medium for just that!
